LEGACIES

COFEPOW is still seeking funds and even though the Far East Prisoners of War Memorial Building is now completed and open it will be essential for us to continue this.

The Trustees are contemplating setting up a COFEPOW Trust Fund as it is considered that this will secure any changes, refurbishment or other major work that may be required on the building in years to come. The Arboretum will maintain the building on a day-to-day basis, but COFEPOW have undertaken to try to assist with any future long term major expenses.

We also anticipate establishing a reseach/archival section within the building to assist those wishing to study in depth the experiences of the FEPOWs.

Legacies can be an invaluable source in fund raising. It is appreciated that this is not a happy subject to raise but is an important one. COFEPOW have no wish to cause offence but would ask anyone drawing up or changing a will to bear COFEPOW in mind when doing this. If you are thinking of leaving money to charity why not make it COFEPOW. This is an option which could be of particular interest to FEPOWs, their widows or families.

No matter if the amount bequeathed is large or small, all monies left to COFEPOW will be used to maintain the FEPOW Memorial Building and preserve the history of the FEPOWs for future generations.

It would be comforting to know that the Far East Prisoners of War Memorial Building will be secure for many more years to come.

If you do decide to help us your legal adviser will require COFEPOW's Registered Address.
