Plans for a 2022 Commemorative service at the NMA Chapel
To commemorate the significant 80th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore during the Second World War, a special service is being organised and will be held on 15th February, 2022, at the Chapel, National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.
Prior to this Service, there will be a welcome reception at 11.00 a.m., where refreshments, including tea/coffee and biscuits, will be available. The service will then commence at 12.00 noon, and will be taken by COFEPOW Patron and Padre, David Childs. COFEPOW Patron, Terry Waite will make the Address and COFEPOW Patron, Sir Henry Every will carry out the Reading.
After the service, those who attend are welcome to join fellow members and parade(gently!) to the FEPOW Building and Grove, where wreaths will be laid.
Vouchers for the refreshments can be collected from Chris Wills on the day.
The event will, of course, be weather dependent, but if you would like to attend the chapel service, please reserve your seat as soon as possible by contacting Chris Wills via email at: chriswills@blueyonder.co.uk or by telephone at 0121 244 7263.
N.B. Please remember to book your parking space at the NMA. Use the booking form https://www.thenma.org.uk/visit-us/plan-your-visit/book-tickets or telephone 01283 245 100 between 9am and 5pm to reserve your space.
