This year Quidhampton, a village near Salisbury, is holding a small commemoration for VJ Day.
On Friday15th August 2025 a commemoration will be held in The White Horse pub garden. Starting at 11.45am and consisting of a brief service, followed by an educational exhibition in the pub with refreshments.
On Saturday 16th August from 2pm until 4pm the exhibition will be in Quidhampton Village Hall for those who cannot come on Friday,
Hopefully, the exhibition will spark people's interest in not only the FEPOW's but others caught up or fighting in the conflict.
Parking in the village is very limited but the Bus, Reds R8, runs every hour from Salisbury or Wilton. There are 2 bus stops, one at Rogers Close, which is close to the pub and the other one stops at Albion Bungalows which is very close to the village hall. The bus runs every hour from Salisbury or Wilton.
