Simon Elson, a freelance feature journalist is writing a piece on the Burma Railway.
He was seeking two or three recollections of camp life, food work load etc of only a paragraph or 2 for each story. Just short extracts to illustrate how hard life was. Simon knows that conditions were very tough and the death rate high.
