Yesterday, May 4, 2021, is a special day of remembrance in the Netherlands. We commemorate the deaths in the Second World War. Also a special and memorable day for the board of the Nagasaki Monument Foundation, with the completion of the Fukuoka 14b monument in Nagasaki. ( Next year the official unveiling of the Monument) Yesterday we held a Zoom meeting with relatives, members of the Japanese committee, the Kizuna committee and the board of the Foundation with our partners. We were able to get to know each other more closely and we looked at images from the start of the construction of the monument on April 12 until the completion now on May 4, 2021. We were also allowed to view the images of the ceremony, wreath and flower laying and the speeches. It was heartwarming, dignified and impressive.
