The 'Aorangi'

The 'Aorangi' arrived in Singapore from Durban on 13th January 1942, as part of Convoy DMI (Ex WS 12ZM ), carrying troops from - 53rd Infantry Brigade, 232 Squadron RAF, 6th Heavy & 35th Light Artillery Regiments RA, and 85th Anti-Tank Regiment RA.. She was then used to evacuate civilians from Singapore and left there on 16th January 1942 and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 24th January 1942.
